Imagine Music Festival returns Sept 2022
In less than 2 months, Imagine Music Festival finally returns September 15 to 18, 2022. After being canceled in 2021 because of the pandemic and canceled last year because of weather, it once again moves to a brand new location near Atlanta, Georgia.
Location
Kingston Downs will be the new home on Imagine Music Festival and is located in the rolling hills of Northwest Georgia. It is about a 45 minute drive from downtown Atlanta and has over 5000 acres of farm land along the Etowah river. It has 3 cottages, a hunt club, and is suitable to hold large outdoor events like weddings, retreats and music festivals.
The website really makes the land look amazing and when Imagine released a first look image of what the layout of the venue would look like, it made me even more excited about going to this music festival. It is hard to tell where all the ADA wheelchair accessible camping, stages and bathrooms would be but information should be added as soon as they become available.
Event Details
For those that are camping, there is the option to come either the Thursday or the Friday. The advantage of coming early is to get the best camping spot available and have more time to set up camp with shorter wait times. Back in 2019, my friend and I arrived on the Friday because I wasn’t sure what the ADA accessibility would be like.
The full line up has now been revealed and it seems most of the main headliners from last year’s canceled festival will return this year. These artists include Excision, Griz, Illenium, and Kaskade. There are so many ticket options from GA to VIP to tent camping or car camping and more. ADA information will be added to the website soon. Tickets can bought online here.
There are accessible pathways and porta potties located throughout with mixed grassy patches throughout the festival. Raised accessible viewing platforms could also be found at all the main bigger stages. Sometimes I do feel like staying in this area if I don’t feel like being in a crowd.
Camping or Hotel?
I am still not sure if I will be camping on site or staying in a nearby hotel and shuttling back and forth every night or not. Taking shuttle buses do require a shuttle pass though. I am just trying to figure out what ADA camping accommodations would be best for me and see if it would be similar to my 2019 experience. The website has all the ADA information here.
Camping does give you a more immersive experience since you live right on site. This gives you access to the silent disco, 24 hour food vendors and shops, workshops, yoga and tons of party neighbors around you. There is also the option of adding daytime pool parties too on the Saturday and Sunday. I will decide soon if I would rather have the less hectic but more comfortable hotel accommodations or not.
Final Thoughts
I am really looking forward to Imagine Festival this year as it has been 3 years since this festival actually happened. I had one of the best music festival experience ever with my first ever time camping and thought that the people attending were all friendly and great. Imagine never felt too huge or cliquey like EDC Vegas and not too small that is has multiple huge stages with high production lights and shows.
Tickets are selling out fast so it is best to get them ASAP. For those who are unsure about going because of ADA concerns, the people at Imagine will definitely take care of you no matter what type of disability you have. Just email them at ada@imaginefestival.com in advance with any questions, comments or concerns. Or send me a message, you do not want to miss out on this festival.
