Skylark Hotel Hanoi

By on June 22, 2025

After 5 nights in Siem Reap at Cheathata CTS Hotel a few months ago, my friend and I traveled back to Hanoi for 2 nights.  We didn’t want to stay at the same hotel as last time but did enjoy our stay at Le Chateau Hotel & Spa.  We wanted a hotel in a different busy area so we could explore that area.  We ended pre booking Skylark Hotel.

Hotel

Skylark Hotel was built in 2012 and has 50 rooms on 11 floors.  We arrived in the evening to the hotel and saw that there was only 1 small step to get inside the hotel.  That wasn’t too bad but we could never find staff to help us.  At our previous Hanoi hotel, we had staff automatically help us in and out of the hotel steps every time.

The lobby area is quite narrow but is deep so it is never really crowded or hard to get by.  It was bright, clean and neatly organized and decorated.  We can even look up to the second floor conference room as it has the entire wall made of glass.

Room

Our room has two good size double beds that were comfortable enough for us.  It was definitely more spacious than our last hotel in Hanoi.  There was a small TV, fridge, desk and chair, that was in our room.

The bathroom was pretty good as the toilet was the right height for my commode to wheel over it.  The roll under sink was fine and the roll in shower was nice and spacious.  There was both a fixed shower head coming from the top and a removeable hand held shower head.

We only stayed 2 nights and after our first night, we were awakened at 7 AM with loud construction noise right next door.  It was so loud and was constant for hours we couldn’t get back to sleep and had to get up and leave the hotel to find something to do.  My friend complained but staff said there was nothing they could do.  Good thing we were checking out early morning the next day.

Amenities

There was a free daily breakfast in the morning at this hotel.  The selection and the quality of the food wasn’t as good as our previous Hanoi hotel either.  Items include: bacon, eggs, buns and several kinds of fruit.  I actually could get to the restaurant at this hotel, but my friend would rather bring breakfast items in a take-away box and eat in our room.

We didn’t have any issues with the free Wifi.  The restaurant is on the top floor which also leads out into the roof top patio.  It was just a small area that had a few table and chairs along with a few plants.  We didn’t really hang out here too long and only got a few pictures of it.

Location

Skylark Hotel has an address of 15 Phan Dinh Phung street in the Hoan Kiem district.  Being in this area we are close to a lot of shops and restaurants and of course Hoan Kiem Lake.  Just a short 10 minute walk from the hotel is Dong Xuan Market.  It is one of the oldest and largest markets in the city and sells all types of goods, clothing, household items and souvenirs.

Final Thoughts

Staying at Skylark Hotel wasn’t the best experience for us at the time because of long construction hours that started early in the morning.  The accessibility of the room was pretty good as is the location.  I probably would stay at this hotel if I was ever back in the city.
