2025 Travel – Year In Review

By on January 2, 2026

Another year has gone by, and after going on 4 trips in 2024, I went on 5 trips in 2025.  I had a cancelled trip in September that eventually moved to December.  I got to add 2 more Disney cruises, a visit back to my birth city, a music festival and a visit to celebrate Disneyland’s 70th anniversary.

Here’s what I did in 2025, my 5 trips:

1.) Fort Lauderdale, USA

My first trip of the year brought me back to Fort Lauderdale in February for another cruise after being there a few months prior for a Royal Caribbean cruise.  We stayed 3 nights checking out the city, going to an art museum and visiting a friend.  Was planning on spending time on her boat but it was a bit too windy to transfer in so we skipped that part.

Disney Dream Marvel Cruise

I been wanting to go on another Disney cruise after my last one and wanted to try one that includes a Marvel day at sea.  I enjoy the super hero franchise and wanted to see what this cruise was all about.

stopping in Cozumel, Mexico

It really was a fun day as we got character meets, special entertainment with fireworks and a special themed dinner.  I had so much fun I booked a Disney cruise with Pixar day at sea for February 2026.

2.) Hanoi, Vietnam

It’s been 8 years since I last visited my birth city.  I wanted to go back to Hanoi for the last while and was glad it happened again in April 2025.  I got to visit family again and to just enjoy the sights, sounds and food of where I was born.

getting around the streets

I revisited a few of the same things like the water puppet show and Hoan Kiem Lake.  What I really enjoyed seeing was the hustle and bustle of Train Street.  We even got to see 2 sperate trains cross the tracks.

Siem Reap, Cambodia

I wanted to add another new country to my list for the year and decided on Siem Reap, Cambodia.  My friend really wanted to visit Angkor Wat and thought it was somewhere he could help me achieve.  We learned about this iconic temple by visiting the museum first.  It really was amazing as I actually got inside some of the areas inside.

Angkor Wat

I still have to write a blog post about my experience so look for that soon.  We also got to visit their zoo and aquarium before leaving.

3.) Anaheim, USA

I went back to Anaheim late June for my third ever visit to Disneyland Resort.  I wanted to take in their 70th anniversary celebrations with a 4 day park ticket.  The first 2 days was to Disneyland Park while the last 2 days was to Disney California Adventure Park.

Mickey’s Toontown at Disneyland

Spending multiple days at each park gave us a more relaxed trip so we could do as much as everything as possible.  I was even able to meet up with friends at Downtown Disney.

4.) Tucson, USA

Dusk Music Festival

I also went back to Tucson in November for my second ever visit to Dusk Music Festival.  It has been a while since I travelled outside my city for a music festival.  I had so much fun that I am thinking I should do more in the future.  It was great seeing G Eazy live for the first time ever and was happy to meet up with Whipped Cream.  We also got to see The Grinch on Broadway which was amazing.

5.) Orlando, USA

I managed to squeeze in 1 more trip of the year mid December to Orlando.  This was supposed to be in September to do Halloween celebrations at Magic Kingdom and on the cruise.  I had to move this to Christmas celebrations instead due to a friend having medical issues.  The trip started out with Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom.  I will post about my fun time later this month.

Disney Wish Merrytime Cruise

I wanted to replace my Halloween cruise with another holiday themed cruise so my only other option was Christmas.  It was another great cruise but I was thinking that there would be more exclusive themed Christmas activities.  The Wish ship was very nice and the food was amazing as usual.  I already have my next 2 Disney cruises booked for February and September of this year.

Final Thoughts

I had another great year of travels in 2025.  I got to go on 2 different Disney themed cruises, Disneyland’s 70th anniversary, Vietnam and Cambodia, and even a music festival.
