Inn At The Peachtrees Hotel Atlanta May 2019
I was really excited to visit Atlanta because I was attending the Shaky Beats Music Festival and checking out some cool attractions recommended by Discover Atlanta. I booked Inn At The Peachtrees Hotel for May 6 to May 13 and when we arrived late evening on May 6, we were told that there were no wheelchair accessible rooms as it is already booked and not available. I explained that I booked a month ago and called the hotel directly and was told to confirm the accessible room a few days before arriving. I actually confirmed a week before arrival and was told that I got the accessible room with the roll-in shower. The person at the front desk said he could not do anything that late at night and even called an off duty manager who couldn’t do anything either. They suggested we take the non accessible room for the night and to call the next manager working Alexa in the morning.
I did that and called and spoke to Alexa in the morning. I explained the whole situation and within 90 minutes, we were moved to an accessible room with a roll-in shower. Whatever she did, we were so thankful. Having to do morning care and a shower that morning, we were slightly late for our appointments that day, but we did not let that dampen our mood. I chose Inn At The Peachrees Hotel because of the location, price and because it had accessible rooms for my dates. Another reason was that they provided free wifi and a daily free breakfast buffet every morning.
Location
Inn At The Peachtrees Hotel is conveniently located right in the heart of downtown Atlanta. There are so many attractions within 20 minutes walk/stroll of the hotel like World Of Coca-Cola, Georgia Aquarium, Skyview Atlanta and CNN Studio Tours. Woodruff Park, Central Park and Centennial Olympic Park are all really close to the hotel too. Lots of shops, restaurants and the Peachtree Center MARTA train station are nearby making this a perfection choice to stay at.
The Room
After switching to a proper room, I was told that the accessible rooms only come with 1 King size bed and that there were no sofa beds or rollaway beds. We were fine with that as long as the bathroom had a roll-in shower. The bed was big enough that we each had our own space. It was soft and there was enough space around the bed to maneuver my wheelchair around. The layout of the room, dresser, TV and mini fridge were great.
The bathroom was finally what I requested. It was nice and large and had lots of room to accommodate my commode chair. It fits perfectly over the toilet and did not have to be jammed inside the roll-in shower. There was a hand-held shower and a fixed shower head so that was useful for any disability. A shower chair and a hotel commode were provided in the bathroom but I did not use any of those.
Amenities
The included free breakfast buffet was great for those who can wake up early enough to take advantage of this. Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, cereals, fruits and baked goods were hot, tasty and available every morning . Juices, coffee, tea and a water jug are the drinks that they offer. There was also a small 24-hr fitness center and a small 24-hr business center that we did not use. The free wifi worked well and was pretty fast whether we used it in the room, lobby, dining area or courtyard. There was no pool at this hotel but I am fine with that.
Courtyard
I really like the courtyard at this hotel. They have a covered cabana where I like to relax in and check my social media on. There is a fountain/pond that is very calming and soothing to listen to as the water flows. The courtyard wasn’t really busy during our entire stay and our hotel room was right beside it and so hung out here everyday for a little bit. I really liked how they had a fire table and I got to use it a couple evenings after a few cool rainy/cloudy days.
After the mishap at the beginning, the rest of my stay was great. With great accessibility, great prices and a wicked location, this hotel should be considered for your trip to Atlanta. I will definitely come back for another visit. Will have to make sure I call ahead again to confirm my accessible room though.

What was the cost, how high was the bed, and did the room have a shower chair, did the pool have a lift to get you in the pool

it was about $160 USD per night including all taxes. Yes, room 153 had a roll-in shower, shower chair and commode. I brought my own commode though. This hotel did not have a pool.
