Super 8 by Wyndham Hollywood/LA Area
Just last week a friend and I visited Los Angeles for Halloween weekend. We got to visit Universal Studios Hollywood twice and got to attend Universal Halloween Horror Nights. We found an accessible hotel right downtown for 3 nights at Super 8 by Wyndham Hollywood/LA area.
The Hotel
Super 8 by Wyndham Hollywood/LA was built in 1996 and has 52 rooms on 4 floors. There is the parking lot on the side and with the entrance to it from the alley, when we arrived from the airport, the accessible taxi dropped us right in front of the door to the hotel.

The single set of doors to get inside the hotel never had an automatic button but the doors do stay open if opened all the way. The front lobby wasn’t too big but was spacious enough to move around in a wheelchair. The front desk was all glass caged in for security reasons.

Room

Our room was on the second floor and only had 1 Queen bed. It was comfortable enough and had enough space under it for a portable lift. There was the usual TV, dresser, desk and chair, and even a mini fridge which we used often. Space around the room was good enough for me to move around.

The bathroom was large and my commode fit over the toilet with no issues. There 2 grab bars around it. The sink wasn’t really a roll under but I never needed to wheel up close to the mirror. The roll in shower did have a flip up shower bench, 2 grab bars and a removable hand held shower head.
Amenities
The free wifi worked well throughout the property. Free breakfast was offered daily from 7 to 9:30AM and was very basic with only packaged pastries, juice, coffee and toast. It wasn’t the greatest breakfast so we only went once.

Honey’s Bar is located and attached to the main floor of the hotel. This is unfortunate for the rooms directly above this nightclub as it did get noisy until very late. Luckily our room was on the other side.

Location
The hotel is located on 1536 N Western Ave and is right beside a Walgreen’s and is across the street from Target and a bunch of restaurants. It is about a 20 minute walk/stroll to the Hollywood Walk of Fame, 8 minute drive to Universal Studios Hollywood and 15 minute drive to Griffith Observatory.

Final Thoughts
We had a great stay at Super 8 by Wyndham Hollywood/LA. The free breakfast was not worth it but the accessibility and the location was worth coming back to this hotel for.
