TownePlace Suites (Marriott) Denver Downtown
I was in Denver 8 months ago and stayed at TownePlace Suites by Marriott Denver Downtown. My trip was cut short so we had to leave earlier than expected. I wanted to return to this hotel since I had a great experience with the hotel and the manager Barbara.
The Hotel
Click here to read the previous description of the hotel. It still looks great and when we entered, we were greeted warmly by staff member Kyle. We told him about our crazy morning with my missing wheelchair foot pedal and how I am returning to this hotel after a disaster trip the last time.
Room
We got the exact same room as last time, which was room 117. It was perfect for me as there is a nice soft Queen size bed along with a pull out sofa bed for my friend. There was enough room for transfers when the sofa bed was in sofa position.
I like how there was a full kitchen with a full size fridge, range, microwave and sink. We made use of the fridge keeping our leftover food and drinks cold.
I finally got to use the accessible bathroom with roll in shower this trip. The toilet was at perfect height for my commode to fit and roll over it. There were a few grab bars and a roll under sink right beside the toilet.
The roll in shower had both a fixed and a removable hand held shower head. There was also grab bars and a shower chair available to be used.
Amenities
The free wifi worked well for us throughout the property. There is also free daily breakfast from 6 to 9 AM. We did bring a few items to our room twice during our stay. There was scrambled eggs, sausages, toast, fruit, yogurt, pastries, cereal and milk. All were great tasting.
There was also a small kiosk store that had snacks, drinks, medications and other small items. There was also a small business area and laundry services that we did not use.
Location
TownePlace Suites by Marriott Denver downtown is located at 685 Speer Blvd. We actually got to see more of the area this trip and explored South Broadway. This trendy area is just minutes from the hotel and is full of shops, restaurants, bars and comedy clubs.
We saw some hilarious local comedy at Chaos Bloom and got to visit a unique game, costume and toy shop called The Wizard’s Chest. The hotel is right beside Denver Health hospital too.
Final Thoughts
I had another great stay at TownePlace Suites by Marriott Denver downtown and will stay again the next time I return to Denver. With great accessibility, room prices, free breakfast, friendly staff and a decent location, this hotel is worth staying in.
