Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale
Just a few weeks ago, a friend and I visited Fort Lauderdale. We wanted to go to at least 1 museum visit during our 3 day stay in the city. We saw that the Museum of Art was downtown and not too far from our hotel, so we decided to go and check it out.
Getting There
We were staying at Home2 Suites by Hilton Fort Lauderdale downtown which was a 12 minute walk/stroll from our hotel. After a free breakfast buffet at our hotel, we slowly made it to the Museum of Art to start our day.

Our Visit

spacious and easy to get around museum
We arrived at the museum around 11:30 AM. There was no special pricing for wheelchair guests and their companions, so we each had to pay regular adult admission of $16 each.

many paintings not in glass or frame
The museum was actually a lot smaller than we thought it to be. It was interesting that many of the paintings and sculptures were not enclosed in a glass or a frame. There were signs to remind guests to not touch anything though.

many sculptures not enclosed either
There was actually a real working pinball machine that was considered artwork and people were able to play it. The museum was easy to get around as it is spacious with flat grounds, elevator and accessible washrooms. There was a small gift shop and cafe on the main floor.

Final Thoughts

gift shop and cafe
My friend and I both had a great time at the Museum of Art. We stayed less than 2 hours and we got to see everything at a casual pace. The admission price is reasonable, so it is definitely worth checking out.
