Hotel Travelodge Montreal Centre August 2019

By on September 6, 2019

On my most recent trip to Montreal for îleSoniq Music Festival, I booked Hotel Travelodge Montreal Centre from August 8 to 14, 2019.  I got a call about a week before our arrival confirming the accessible room with a roll-in shower.  We arrived after midnight and after going to our room, we were shocked to see how messy the room was.  Staff never cleaned or made up the room.  Used sheets and blankets were all on the floor and the bathroom had wet used towels on the floor.  We immediately went to talk to the front desk staff and was told that there are no maids working and that a maintenance worker will hand us new linen but we had to change our own linen since the worker did not speak English and wasn’t understanding our situation.  We Were just happy we got the accessible room and after speaking to the manager in the morning, he upgraded us from the free basic breakfast to the free premium breakfast.

Location

Hotel Travelodge Montreal Centre is located right downtown and very close to Chinatown and the entertainment district.  There are so many restaurants, shops, government offices and The Convention centre within minutes of walking distance.  I really liked how Society for Arts & Technology (SAT) was only a block away from our hotel.  We went to a few after parties there and was only 5 minutes stroll for us.  There are also 3 metro stations located really close to this hotel.

Room

The room we got was a bit small.  The 2 beds had different heights and was positioned in a way that is was a bit difficult to maneuver around.  We did not spend a lot of time in the room so the size did not bother us.

small but sufficient room

The bathroom was also a bit small, but at least it was an accessible bathroom with a roll in shower.  The toilet was at a perfect height to have my commode fit over.  There was also a hand held shower head, grab bars and shower bench provided.

Amenities

Branzino Restaurant & Bar located on the second floor.  There is a free daily continental breakfast buffet that is included with every hotel stay, but since we had that issue coming in, we only ate from the upgraded premium breakfast.  The free items included boiled eggs, fruits, yogurt, baked goods, cereal, juice, milk and coffee.  The premium items were made to order and included french toast, omelettes, eggs any way, bacon, sausages and more.  The hot premium breakfast was delicious everyday and thanks to the manager for upgrading us.  We did not use the small gym that was here.  There was also free wifi which worked really well throughout the property.

free continental breakfast

I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Travelodge Montreal Centre and really liked the location.  The room and bathroom was a bit small but it had everything I needed and prices were really reasonable.  I would definitely come back to this hotel next time I am in Montreal.

loved the breakfast sandwiches
