The Clinton Hotel South Beach

I have been to Miami 3 times in my life and in November 2015, it was my second visit to the city so I remembered that I wanted to stay at a hotel that was really close to South Beach.  That area is known for its beaches, restaurants and nightlife and my buddy and I wanted to stay where all the action was.  We ended up choosing to stay at The Clinton Hotel which is a luxury boutique hotel.

The Hotel

We arrived at Miami International Airport just after midnight on the Wednesday and it was about a 25 minute drive to the Clinton Hotel.  The hotel’s address is 825 Washington Ave and has 88 guest rooms throughout the 4 floors of the property.

The front entrance was easy to get inside as it was flat and didn’t have any steps.  As soon as we saw the lobby, we were surprised at how nice it was, everything was in white and fancy looking.  Even though it was so late, we didn’t have any problems checking in at the front desk. 

Room

The room was a decent size with 2 beds for us.  There wasn’t really too much extra room for me to wheel around the room but we didn’t hang out in the room much except to sleep and to get ready to go out.

The bathroom worked out really well for me.  The roll in shower was spacious and was easy to wheel my commode inside.  There was a removable hand held shower head and a shower curtain.  The bathroom felt big and my commode fit over the toilet perfectly and can be wheeled close to the accessible sink.

Amenities

The Clinton Hotel does offer a few nice amenities that makes it worth staying here.  There is the usual free wifi for guests in their rooms and there is also a free business center equipped with a computer, printer and fax machine.  We didn’t use this room or the small fitness room that is next to it.  There is also a small shop that sell small toiletries, snacks and drinks.

A small pool and pool deck is located at the back of this hotel.  There was actually a wheelchair lift at the pool but we didn’t get a chance to hang out here as we preferred to relax at a real beach that was so close by.

Location

The Clinton Hotel is so close to the beach as it is literally only 2 blocks away and takes about 5 minutes to get there.  Since the weather was pretty warm and sunny during our entire stay in Miami, we visited the beach every day.

Right in front of the beach is Ocean Drive, which is a major hot spot for tourists.  This long road is over 2 KM (1.3 miles) long and is full of restaurants, bars, nightclubs and hotels.  It is always packed full of people day and night.  Since it was so close to our hotel, we were here pretty much everyday.

I really enjoyed our 5 night stay at The Clinton Hotel.  The price, the accessibility and the location was great.  I will probably end up in Miami again sometime in the near future and would really consider staying at this hotel again.
