The Moment Hotel, Los Angeles
After a hot 5 days in Austin and San Antonio, my friend and I flew to Los Angeles to visit Universal Studios Hollywood. I was previously there in March and wanted to go again using my annual pass. I wanted a hotel close to the Hollywood Walk of Fame and not too far from Universal. I wanted to book The Hotel Hollywood again, but the accessible room was not available so I end up booking The Moment Hotel.
The Hotel
The Moment Hotel is a boutique hotel that was built in 1980 which was last renovated in 2013 and has 38 rooms on 2 floors. The entrance to the hotel is covered and does have automatic double doors to make it easier to enter nd leave the hotel.
The lobby is a bit small but does have a free water, coffee and tea station for guests around the corner beside the small mini bar. We did fill our water bottles multiple times daily every time we went by that area.
Room
I booked online in advance an accessible room with 2 beds but when we checked in, they missed the note about the roll in shower. The only accessible room that was still available has 1 bed so they gave us a roll away bed at no extra charge.
With the extra bed at the end of my bed, it made the room a bit too small. My friend did make it manageable to move me around the room to transfer me though. There was also a big TV, safe, coffee maker, and desk with chair to complete the room.
The bathroom was great with 2 grab bars by the toilet and the roll under sink. I really like the roll in shower as there is a fixed shower head in addition to the hand held shower head. I could use both at the same time. There was a removable shower chair which I don’t use along with a few grab bars in the shower.
Amenities
This hotel does not really have that many amenities. There is the usual free wifi that worked well in the room and throughout the rest of the hotel. There is surface parking for a fee of $35 a night plus taxes. The rooftop bar was really nice and there was a lift to get to the top. Our stay included a free drink for each of us which included any alcoholic drink too.
Location
The Moment Hotel is on 7370 Sunset Blvd. This street is known for its active nightlife and does have a lot of people hanging around. The Hollywood Walk of Fame was only a 15 minute walk/roll away which is one of the main reasons I booked The Moment Hotel. Universal Studios Hollywood was also less than a 15 minute drive away.
Final Thoughts
I really liked The Moment Hotel as it is a small boutique hotel that is right by downtown near the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The accessibility of the room and the hotel was great and I will definitely return to see what a 2 bed accessible room will be like.
