2017 Travels Year In Review
I couldn’t start travelling until almost the middle of 2017 since I was admitted to the hospital in January and ended up staying there almost 2 months. Luckily I healed properly and made it in time for my first trip of the year in May. I managed to squeeze in 4 trips and here is what I did this year:
Tampa Bay, USA
For my first trip out of the hospital, I wanted to do a trip within North America just to see how my body would respond to travelling again and being on flights. I chose Tampa because I wanted to relax on a short cruise and see a smaller music festival like Sunset Music Festival. EDC Vegas the last 2 years was really wild and wanted something not as wild and crazy. The cruise was nice and relaxing while the music festival was really fun and exceeded my expectations. Las Vegas, USA
Since I skipped this year’s edition of EDC, I still wanted to go to Vegas because I love this city and wanted to see a few shows on the last long weekend of summer. Thanks to various people and clubs, I got to see Major Lazer, Martin Garrix, The Chainsmokers, Tiesto, and Calvin Harris. Read more here. My long weekend here was so amazing, except I was having major powerchair problems. Read more here.
Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam
This was the one trip I been looking forward to the most. I had to cancel Vietnam last year due to health issues. This is my birth country and I have been dreaming a return to Vietnam for so long. Lucky I got 3 great travel companions to take me on my dream trip and they did not disappoint. I got to see family in Hanoi, go boating down Ha Long Bay (read more here), eat amazing food, enjoy hot weather in Ho Chi Minh and just overall visit my country. This actually turned out to be one of my favorite trips ever.
Hong Kong and Macau
This trip was kind of sudden and booked without much thought because there was a great flight deal online. I knew the weather wouldn’t be hot but was surprised that some of the days while I was there was really cold. The dim sum was amazing as was certain areas of Hong Kong. I even enjoyed visiting the Las Vegas of Asia as Macau had a mini Vegas strip with the same hotels as in Vegas. I even got to gamble a little bit of money too but obviously lost. I had fun but would definitely have to come back during the warmer months.
So it was another year of great travels and great memories. Looking forward to what 2018 brings and thanks for reading and following my travels.
