Disney Fantasy to Lookout Cay, Bahamas

By on March 30, 2026

After going on the Disney Dream last year with Marvel Day at Sea, I wanted to do another themed Disney cruise right away.  The Pixar Day at Sea cruises were on hiatus in 2025 and when I saw that they were available again for 2026, I made sure I could find a friend to go with me.  We booked a 5 night cruise on the Disney Fantasy from February 1 to 6 out of Port Canaveral, Florida.

There were 2 port stops on this cruise: Lookout Cay Bahamas and Nassau Bahamas.  This blog post will only be about Lookout Cay as I will write about Nassau later.  I will also write a full review about the Fantasy ship and the Pixar Day at Sea later on.

Getting Off The Ship

After a late start due to my morning care, we finally got off the ship. We were both previously at Lookout Cay just 6 weeks prior to this visit, so we knew exactly what to expect.  This was a docked port so all we had to do was scan our key to the world card or MagicBand+ to get off the ship.

docked ports are easy to get off and on the ship

We waited to get on the wheelchair accessible golf cart to take us to Mabrika Cove which is the main transfer area.  This is only available for guests with mobility issues.  Once we are at Mabrika Cove, everyone is able to use the tram to get to the main area of Lookout Cay.  The trams all have a wheelchair spot right at the front.

Lookout Cay, Bahamas

As I previously wrote, Disney’s Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point is a privately owned port in the Bahamas.  It is an exclusive port just for Disney guests and opened in June 2024.

Just like Disney’s other private island, Castaway Cay, there is a bunch of options for people to do at this port.  There are bike rentals, trams, run/walk track.  There are also port excursions like boating, jet skiing, sailing and more.  People can also relax on the beach or rent private cabanas.  Character meets are also at select locations.  Drinks and food are included except alcohol.

Our Day

Since we never had breakfast or brunch yet, the first thing we did was head over to the adults only area to go to Serenity Bay BBQ.  I was just parked at a table while my friend got up to the food area to grab me a bunch of food.  There was rotisserie chicken, baked fish, ribs, potato salad, macaroni & cheese, taco meat and lots more.  The food was amazing, but we did have flies bothering us at times.

included lunch at Serenity Bay BBQ was amazing

After we ate, we decided to explore more of the family side of Lookout Cay since we didn’t on our last visit.  We went to see Disney Fun in the Sun Beach Bash at 1 PM at the Play Play Pavilion which was more of a kids show so we left.

We saw a few of the Disney characters like Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Daisy having photo ops at the plaza by True-True BBQ so we waited and took pics with Donald Duck.  Afterwards, we went to get some soft serve ice cream that is no extra charge for guests.

We then went to Goombay Cultural Center to watch the 2 PM show of RUSH! A Junkanoo Celebration.  This 20 minute Bahamian show is high energy and features dancers with bright and elaborate costumes and instruments getting people to dance along and participate in a marching parade.  For this show, Mickey and Minnie Mouse were in their traditional Bahamian outfits joining in on the fun.

When the celebration fun was over, my friend went by the water and the beach for a bit, while I just rested nearby at bar kiosk.  With the weather getting windy and it starting to sprinkle a bit, we decided to get cover by checking out the gift shops and heading to the tram stop to get back on the ship.

didn’t go down this beach

Accessibility

I thought accessibility at Disney’s Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point to be pretty good.  The walk from the ship to Mabrika Cove is a bit long but am glad those with mobility issues are able to use the tram to make it easier.  They are pretty strict with this rule because there are only a limited number of those vehicles.

lots of free beach wheelchairs to use

There were beach wheelchairs that were free to borrow but we never used.  There were some paved pathways at the beach areas and around the property which was easy to wheel on.  The wooden bridges and walkways were pretty convenient.  The shops, restaurants and Goombay Cultural Center were all accessible.

lots of ramps and a wooden boardwalk

We got to use the accessible bathroom in the main area and I was surprised to see a full size adult changing table.  The other accessible bathrooms did not have one but was spacious enough for a companion or a caregiver to assist a disabled guest.

Final Thoughts

Serenity Bay BBQ eating area

It was another great visit to Lookout Cay as we stayed about 4 hours.  We got to see more of the family side this time and was able to get pictures with the characters.  The included BBQ lunch was amazing as always and really enjoyed RUSH! A Junkanoo Celebration the second time around.  The Disney private islands are worth repeating and can’t wait to return in the future.

hopefully will return soon
