Drury Plaza Hotel Nashville Downtown
Earlier this month, a friend and I went to Nashville for a quick 3 night stay over the weekend. The trip was only booked just 2 weeks in advance so I knew it would be harder to get a decent hotel to fit my needs. I wanted a hotel right downtown where all the action. I also needed a bathroom with a roll in shower and preferably a hotel with free breakfast and a pool. The perfect choice was the Drury Plaza Hotel Nashville Downtown.
Hotel
Drury Plaza Hotel Nashville Downtown opened at the end of December 2019 and has 22 floors with 389 rooms. The lobby is on the main floor, floors 2 to 7 are for parking, while floors 8 to 22 are for guests. We arrived around 7:30 PM and got dropped off on the drive way side which had the automatic sliding doors.

We checked in easily as the staff was friendly and efficient. The lobby area looked very clean and bright. It made the hotel feel more upscale and luxury. There was also a small table opposite the front desk that had free ice water, coffee and tea. There was also a small snack area where chips, candy, snacks and drinks were sold.

Room
We got room 1018 which was listed as a suite with 2 rooms: with 1 King bed, a sofa bed and a roll in shower. The main room was very spacious even with a King bed in it. There was a TV, dresser, couple chairs, and right beside a giant window. My friend stayed in this room while I stayed in the other room.

The second room wasn’t as spacious as it had the sofa bed, coffee maker, sink, microwave on the one side. There is another TV and dresser in this room, along with a chair. I thought the sofa bed was comfortable enough.

The bathroom did not have a roll in shower. There was a 3 or 4 inch ledge to get in the glass enclosed shower. It was a bit dangerous to lift my commode with me in it inside the ledge, so I skipped showering on this trip. There wasn’t even a removable hand held shower head either. There was only 1 grab bar inside the shower.

The toilet has its own door and was a good height for my commode to wheel over it. There is a double wide sink and mirror but it wasn’t a roll under sink. There was also a bath tub with 1 grab bar on the side.

Amenities
This hotel had some great amenities which made we sway towards booking here. The free Wifi worked well in our room and the entire property. There was also a 24 hour gym and business room, which we did not use. There was also an on site restaurant and bar so guests don’t even have to leave the building for food and drinks.

free breakfast daily
There was a free hot breakfast on the 8th floor served weekdays 6 to 9:30 AM, and 7 to 10 AM on weekends. We took advantage of this all 3 mornings of our stay. I went to the dining room once while the other 2 mornings, my friend brought food to the room. There was scrambled eggs, sausage patties, hash browns, fruit, cereal, pancakes and juice.

There was also a 5:30 PM to 7 PM kickback daily. Guests got to eat hot foods like grilled chicken, pasta, hot dogs, nachos, sodas and more. Each guest were even given 3 alcoholic drinks free each. Every night is a different menu and we only went once. The lobby also had free popcorn and soda every night from 4 to 8 PM.

Pool
l always prefer a hotel with a pool even though I don’t usually get into the pool because my friends can relax in the pool while I sit in the sun pool side. Drury Plaza hotel has a big rooftop pool that is partially inside and outside on the 8th floor. There is a wheelchair pool lift that can be requested to use. A small hot tub is located outside on the deck. We did use it once to chill in the sun.

Location
Drury Plaza Hotel Nashville Downtown has an address of 300 Korean Veterans Blvd. This hotel is in the perfect location as it is only a 5 minute walk/stroll to the lower end of the entertainment district: Broadway. It is also very close to Bridgestone Arena, several museums, and Printers Alley; which is a nightclub and entertainment district.

Final Thoughts
Except our issue with the roll in shower, Drury Plaza Hotel Nashville Downtown is a great hotel that offers a good free breakfast, free dinner snacks with alcohol, and even popcorn and soda. It is in such a great location and I would stay again. I would make sure I would get a roll in shower as I have seen pictures online.
