Home2 Suites by Hilton Fort Lauderdale Downtown

Just a few weeks ago, a friend and I flew to Fort Lauderdale for a Disney Marvel cruise.  We arrived early and needed an accessible hotel for 3 nights before our cruise.  I was just in Fort Lauderdale a few months ago and stayed near the beach so I wanted to stay downtown this time.  I ended up booking at Home2 Suites by Hilton Fort Lauderdale downtown.

Hotel

Home2 Suites by Hilton Fort Lauderdale Downtown opened in 2020 and is part of 2 hotels merged into 1 complex.  It is connected to Tru by Hilton and each hotel has its own front lobby, breakfast bar and lounge.  The Home2 Suites side has 106 guest rooms on 19 floors.

I informed the hotel in advance that we would be checking in late around 10 PM.  When we arrived I was accidently charged for the hotel even though I prepaid.  Everything was fixed right away.  The lobby was very nice and modern looking and had wide automatic doors.

Room

Our room was quite large and had had a comfortable king size bed for me and a sofa bed for my friend.  The bed did have a few inches underneath for a lift to wheel under.  There was a desk and a drawer with a good size TV.  There was also a full size fridge/freezer, sink, microwave and coffee machine.

The bathroom was also a good size.  There was a roll under sink, toilet with grab bars and a roll in shower.  There were also grab bars, a flip up bath seat and a hand held shower head.  Everything met my needs.

Amenities

A free buffet breakfast is served on weekdays between 6:30 AM and 9:30 AM and on weekends between 7:00 AM and 10:00 AM.  It slightly varies each day but there is bacon, sausage, eggs, pancakes, cereals, coffee, juice and coffee.

The free wifi worked well.  There is a 24 hour gym, meeting rooms, parking,  lounge/bar and a snack/deli counter where we did buy some snacks for last minute munchies.  We also got multiple free water bottles daily.

Pool

The outside pool is located on the 5th floor.  There was a wheelchair pool lift which I never used.  There is also a courtyard with plants and outdoor games with tables and chairs for people to relax outside.

Location

The hotel has an address of 315 NW 1st avenue.  It is right downtown in the vibrant Flagler Village neighborhood and is close to McDonald’s, Museum of Art, Baptist Health IcePlex, and a whole bunch of restaurants and shops.

Final Thoughts

Home2 Suites by Hilton Fort Lauderdale Downtown was a great hotel.  It was really nice, new and modern and was in a great location downtown.  The free daily breakfast was pretty good too.  I would stay again.
