My Travels of 2016, Year In Review

By on January 9, 2017

I slowed down on my travels in 2016 since I had a very busy travel year in 2015.  I made it on 4 trips in 2016, being in 3 different countries.  Here is where I traveled to in 2016.

Chennai and Mumbai, India

India was not really wheelchair accessible at all but that didn’t stop me from wanting to visit.  I heard about the great food, culture and am a huge fan of the hot weather.  I have my trusty travel companion who can help push my wheelchair around and up curbs.  Traffic was extremely crazy and it was interesting weaving in and out of cars with the locals, and was quite a learning experience to see how people live in such poor conditions.  I realized that I really love Indian food which was a bonus.

Las Vegas, USA

I have been to Vegas many times, and this year was my second year in a row coming here for the Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) music festival.  With great weather, music and a great group of friends, this trip is already considered a hit.  Lots of partying, so I might take a year off this in 2017, and revisit in the future.  Read more here.

Toronto, Canada

Was great checking out the tourist sites with Tourism Toronto as we enjoyed this city a lot.  We got to see Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada, CN Tower, Toronto Zoo, Hockey’s Hall of Fame and the Royal Ontario Museum.  Sight-seeing around the city was great, but we were in Toronto to attend Digital Dreams Music Festival.  It was a great 2 day party to end our trip in Toronto.  Read more here.

Tokyo, Japan

This was my first time to Japan and it was quite amazing to see how different the culture here is.  I always liked going to countries that are totally different from Canadian and West culture.  Noticed it was very crammed with people and loved how each district in Tokyo had their unique flair.  I was really happy about accessibility within the city and the subway system.  Again, the food was amazing and prices reasonable.  This trip was also capped off by going to 2 days out of 3 to Ultra Japan Music Festival.  The music and people were so amazing that I will repeat this sometime in the future.  Read more here.
