2019 Travels Year In Review

By on December 27, 2019

Time really flies and another year of travels have passed.  I made it on 5 trips that were all in North America.  I never made it to my 30th country in 2019 but did get to try some new music festivals and even got to try accessible camping for the first time ever.  Here is my 2019 travels year in review.

starting 2019 off in Puerto Vallarta

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

It was great revisiting the first place I traveled to after being paralyzed.  I remember back in 2006, I was really nervous about flying and having a friend take care of me and do my personal care.  Over 12 years later and many trips in between, I still remembered some of the places that we visited.  Visiting the Malecon boardwalk again in January was great and I recalled everything about it.  It was just as busy now as it was back then and definitely a must visit when visiting this city.  Read more here.

Atlanta, USA

Doing a press trip with Discover Atlanta in May, I really got to see some of the top attractions this city had to offer.  I really loved visiting the World of Coca Cola and one of the world’s biggest aquariums: The Georgia Aquarium.  The city was pretty wheelchair accessible and I made friends in this city after attending the recently announced canceled Shaky Beats Music Festival.  I had such a great time and saw some cool artists and was sad to hear this event would not take place in 2020.

Montreal, Canada

Visiting Montreal back in August was my second time visiting this city.  I visited Montreal back in June 2010 and had to revisit Schwartz’s to eat Montreal’s favorite smoked meat sandwich place.  The food there was so amazing, I already want to go back.  The main purpose of coming back was to visit ilesoniq Music Festival.  It was great reconnecting with old friends and going backstage and meeting some great artists at this music festival.

I enjoyed Atlanta so much I decided to come back in September, which was only 4 months after my previous visit.  I did not get a chance to visit around the city too much this trip since I was just in Atlanta and was more focused on Imagine Music Festival and trying accessible camping with Unity Travel.  I had one of the best experiences ever here and really enjoyed camping at a big music festival.  I am already planning to go back in 2020 when the event moves to a new location.

Tucson, USA

Tucson was a smaller city than I am used to visiting.  It was great to see giant cactus everywhere and attend Dusk Music Festival in November.  It was not as crowded and as hectic as other music festivals that I have been to and featured a wider genre of music.  I had an memorable time and can see this festival get bigger and better in 2020.

2019 was another great year of travels.  I had a fantastic time checking out some new music festivals and got to try accessible camping for the first time ever.  I will be back in Miami for my 3rd visit to that city and for my 7th cruise later in mid January and will definitely visit my 30th country sometime in 2020.  Follow me and like my page at www.facebook.com/atvyyc to see what else I have going on.
