Rosen Inn Orlando

By on December 9, 2021

Last month, a friend and I visited Orlando to attend EDC Orlando, ICON Park, Universal Studios and Disney World.  We initially booked for an 11 night trip with the first 7 nights at a hotel near Universal Studios and the last 4 nights at a Disney hotel.  As I mentioned in my previous post about missing our connecting flight to Orlando, we ended up with only 6 nights at the Rosen Inn.

Once we found out that we wouldn’t arrive in Orlando until the next morning, I immediately sent an email to Rosen Inn to let them know of our late arrival and to not give up our wheelchair accessible room.  I later got an email confirming both was good.

The Hotel

Rosen Inn, closest to Universal Studios is located on 6327 International Dr and is a 3 star hotel.  This hotel has been recently renovated and has 315 rooms in 2 buildings.  I chose this hotel because of the price, location and the fact they are very wheelchair accessible.  The lobby was nice and spacious and I had no issues getting inside.

When we got to the front desk, we were happy to hear that our reservation was still there and that they continued to save our accessible room for us.  When we got to our room though, we immediately noticed that the bathroom did not have a roll in shower.  The person tried to switch us to another room that was not accessible either.  My friend had to show them on his phone what a roll in shower was and the person guaranteed to get us that room the next day.

Room

We left the hotel before noon so we could get to Universal Studios, so we did not get to see our room until later that night.  When we did get home that night, there was a slight hesitation that the room would still be wrong but it wasn’t.  It still had 1 King bed with the usuals like a big TV, mini fridge, microwave, coffee/tea machine and a safe.  There was enough room for my wheelchair to get around too.

The bathroom was nice and spacious and my commode fit over the toilet perfectly.  The roll in shower was a bit small but it was still manageable.  There was a removeable hand held shower so that really made it easier to get properly clean.

Amenities

fitness center

This nice hotel actually had some great amenities for its guests.  The free wifi worked well in our room and in all the major public areas.  There was also a business center with public computers and phones, a small fitness center, arcade room, gift shop, convenience store and a laundry room with coin operated machines.

Rosen Inn also provided free parking with 24 hour security.  They even offered free shuttle service to and from Universal Studios that can be made in advance.  We did not use this service as my friend didn’t mind just walking and rolling to Universal Studios, but they do have accessible shuttles that had to be booked by noon the day before trip.

Rosen Inn surprising had multiple options for dining.  The Palms Dining Room for their breakfast buffet, Lite Bite Mini-Market for quick small meals, snacks, pizza and drinks, International Pub for evening drinks and bar food, Sakuri Sushi and Shogun Japanese Steakhouse.  We did not eat at any of the restaurants but did buy snacks and drinks from the mini market.

Pool

Rosen Inn did have a nice small pool located outside that had a wheelchair lift.  We did not use the pool either but did see a few people use it during our stay.  We didn’t even sit and relax in this area either as we were pretty busy doing other things.

Location

Rosen Inn is located on International Dr so it is in a really busy area.  There were many restaurants, gift shops, discount stores, mini golf places, arcades, hotels, attractions nearby.  We liked the fact that it was within walking distance to both Universal Studios and ICON Park.  We never really ran out of things to see and eat nearby.

We both really enjoyed our 6 night stay at Rosen Inn and would totally stay again if ever back in Orlando.  The hotel was very wheelchair accessible and had many great amenities including a pool with a wheelchair lift.  It is so close to all the shops and restaurants and relatively close to both Orlando Studios and ICON Park.  With great prices, this place is highly recommended.
